Your Role:
As the Director of Corporate Affairs and Government Relations, you’ll lead the company’s initiatives in corporate affairs, managing high-level government and industry relationships and steering the public affairs strategy. You will have the flexibility to work in a hybrid or part-time consulting capacity, based in either Jeddah or Riyadh. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a background in lobbying, public affairs, and an extensive network within government. You will act as the company’s voice, advocating in key interactions, fostering strategic alliances, and ensuring alignment with business goals and market presence. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, public affairs acumen, and strong relationship-building skills. A well-established network within the food industry and government sectors is essential. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Corporate Affairs
- Design and implement comprehensive strategies to enhance brand reputation and visibility.
- Oversee communications and media relations to project a consistent and positive image.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with government officials, industry leaders, and community stakeholders.
- Represent the company as a spokesperson in engagements with government and industry, facilitating dialogues that align with corporate objectives.
- Government Relations and Policy
- Track and influence policy changes and regulatory developments relevant to the company.
- Advocate with regulatory bodies and government agencies for favorable policies and conditions.
- Provide guidance on government relations to inform executive decision-making.
- Crisis Communication and Management
- Develop and manage crisis communication strategies, handling public relations issues effectively.
- Lead initiatives to uphold and restore the company’s reputation in challenging situations.
- Market Insights and Intelligence
- Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and public sentiment to support strategic planning.
- Offer data-driven insights to guide executive decisions and market positioning.
Must Have:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Substantial experience in corporate affairs or public relations, with proven leadership in government relations within the consumer goods sector.
- Skills:
- Deep knowledge of government operations, public policy, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong crisis management experience, with a discreet and responsible approach to sensitive issues.
