Role Summary: As the Condiments QA Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for championing quality consistency across all stages — from raw materials to finished products — while ensuring adherence to food safety standards and legal compliance. You will lead initiatives that enhance product quality, stability, and manufacturing efficiency within the condiment product line at SMFF. The role involves collaborating cross-functionally, managing product validation processes, and owning the food quality standards to deliver excellence to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish robust quality assurance processes, people capabilities, and equipment systems for the condiment business within the SMFF quality department.
- Lead product testing and implement necessary changes to maintain supply continuity and enable margin improvement through product development.
- Ensure thorough testing and quality maintenance of raw materials and finished goods across different stages and supply chain conditions.
- Serve as the lead for product food information including ingredients, allergens, and nutritional values for all condiment products.
- Drive the New Product Development (NPD) process, ensuring development and launch of products in line with SMFF standards.
- Ensure delivery and ongoing compliance with third-party accreditation and food safety certifications.
- Continuously review and implement market-relevant food legislation into internal QA systems.
- Lead and manage change projects for ingredient/menu item replacements from concept through restaurant launch.
- Own recipe validation and food ingredient profiles, ensuring complete food safety and quality standards are met.
- Oversee recipe management systems and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including equipment, risk, and operations to drive restaurant-friendly initiatives while upholding food safety.
- Act as a guardian of food quality, ensuring consistency in core product standards.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to product quality.
- Promote and champion food safety and quality culture across all levels of the business.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline (mandatory).
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in food manufacturing, preferably in condiments or sauce production.
- Solid experience in food safety, quality management, and product development.
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP, SFDA regulations, food labelling laws, and other quality systems.
- Proven project management experience across product optimization, innovation, and launches.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
- Hands-on experience with raw material systems, recipe management, and food labelling compliance tools.
