Job Description

The company is looking for a seasoned Advisor with extensive experience in the poultry industry to provide expert guidance on projects and business strategies. The candidate should have held senior roles or led high-impact projects in the industry, with in-depth knowledge of the poultry value chain. The role requires providing strategic direction, conducting rigorous data analysis, and validating information from multiple market sources. The Advisor will also engage with key stakeholders, such as vendors, farms, and customers, to support business development and operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Poultry Value Chain Expertise
  • Provide detailed advice on all stages of the poultry value chain, from breeding and hatcheries, through feed management, to processing and distribution.
  • Offer strategic insights into operational improvements and cost reduction across different segments of the poultry sector, leveraging expertise from previous senior-level roles or project leadership.
  • Advise on emerging trends, technological innovations, and regulatory changes impacting the poultry industry.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Develop comprehensive business plans that reflect detailed understanding of market conditions, competitor activities, and consumer demand trends.
  • Present clearly defined strategies with measurable objectives and timelines, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term goals.
  • Use previous experience in the poultry industry to identify and mitigate risks, optimize operational efficiencies, and drive growth initiatives.
  • Data Analysis & Information Validation
  • Perform extensive analysis on both qualitative and quantitative data, including production metrics, market prices, feed costs, and consumer preferences.
  • Validate information from multiple sources by triangulating vendor insights, customer feedback, and market reports to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide detailed financial modeling and forecasts based on poultry production cycles, cost structures, and market demand.
  • Market Research & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Conduct fieldwork, including regular site visits to vendors, farms, and customers to gain firsthand insights into market conditions.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the poultry value chain, from feed suppliers to end consumers, ensuring all perspectives are integrated into the strategic recommendations.
  • Collect and analyze qualitative insights from market players to identify gaps in current operations or potential opportunities for new product lines or market entry strategies.
  • Project Leadership & Advisory
  • Act as a lead advisor on key projects, providing expert input throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptualization to execution.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams, ensuring that all initiatives are grounded in sound poultry industry practices and are achievable within the market context.
  • Offer tactical advice on improving supply chain management, vendor negotiation strategies, and customer engagement in the poultry business.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in senior leadership roles within the poultry industry, including hands-on experience in operations, supply chain, or strategy development.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep expertise in all aspects of the poultry value chain, with a focus on breeding, feed management, production, processing, distribution, and market dynamics.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in financial analysis, market data interpretation, and information triangulation to validate industry insights.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in an easily digestible manner for executive stakeholders.
  • Research & Fieldwork: Proven experience in conducting market research, including on-the-ground fieldwork with vendors, customers, and farms to gather actionable data.
  • Leadership: A track record of leading projects and teams in high-pressure environments, with an ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in emerging markets or with multinational firms in the poultry industry.
  • A well-established network of industry contacts across the value chain, from feed suppliers to retailers, enabling access to timely market intelligence.
  • Expertise in emerging technologies or sustainability practices in poultry production, with the ability to advise on incorporating these into existing operations.
